| Facelift
Facelift (Rhytidectomy) is one of the most commonly performed elective procedures in facial plastic surgery. The goal of the surgery is to enhance the appearance of the aging face and neck by tightening the sagging tissues of the face and neck and by removal of excessive skin and fatty tissue. As can be seen below, it is both a "neck" and "face" lift, as both areas are addressed.
So, a facelift will rejuvenate primarily the lower 1/2 of the face, the jawline and the neck.

Facelift is often cited as turning back the clock about 7-10 years in the lower face and neck. The results are permanent in the sense that the neck and jawline will always appear tighter than if there had been no surgery.
The Procedure
The procedure can be done awake or asleep. Dr. Most recommends that for patient comfort and safety, this procedure be done asleep. Incisions are placed in front of and behind the ear. Dr. Most uses the most meticulous technique on his incisions. Many hairdressers have complimented Dr. Most's patients on their hard-to-find incisions. See if you can find them in the photo gallery, above.
Recovery period
Patients may expect 2-3 weeks of swelling in the cheeks and neck. Some patients recover more rapidly, some may take a few days longer.
